What are PRP Injections?
PRP injections, also known as Platelet-Rich Plasma injections, are used to accelerate the healing of injured ligaments, muscles & joints. During the procedure, the patient’s blood is drawn via venipuncture & placed on a centrifuge to separate different components of blood. The platelet-rich plasma (tiny blood components that promote clotting & healing) are then withdrawn & injected into the injured area to supercharge your body’s natural healing process.
PRP Injections at Natural Drip
PRP injections at Natural Drip are given by our board certified nurse practitioner, Hailey Newton. The appointment is about 30-45 minutes long. During the procedure, the patient may experience burning at the injection sites (venipuncture site or PRP injection site) or pressure in the joint space. Post-injection, the patient may experience pain or pressure for several hours. Healing with PRP occurs over several months though you could notice benefits sooner. Each patient is unique, therefore some patients may require one injection, while others may require a series of injections over several months. PRP injections may also be given in conjunction with prolozone for added benefits
